About the ticket access program

We believe that access to art is a right and not a privilege. By minimizing economic and social barriers to entry, we hope to create a warm, welcoming space for innovation and unique artistic experiences for all of our neighbors and fellow New Yorkers.

While we strive to offer accessible ticket pricing, including $10 gallery exhibition tickets for all visitors (and free gallery admission for children / teens 18 and under, CUNY students, and NYCHA residents), we recognize that our regular prices may be prohibitive for some people. The Ticket Access Program (TAP), which provides free and deeply discounted tickets to Shed programs, is central to our vision of social activism and inclusion.

To date, over 4,000 individuals who are members of a partner organization—including children, seniors, and adults from New York City-based nonprofit, government, school, and social impact groups—have accepted our invitation to visit The Shed through TAP.

Partners include the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), the City University of New York (CUNY), Culture Pass, Stein / Sirovich Senior Center, Lambda School, the Center, the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), Henry Street Settlement, and many more.

We’d love to hear from you. For more information about upcoming TAP opportunities, or if you would like your organization to partner with us, please email tap@theshed.org.

Thank you to our partners
